What can you do at our lodge?

Perfect speaking guides are available for your visits or trips. Many minibuses or bajaj are running around and can bring you in a few minutes to Babogaya (Debre Zeit)

  • Simple relax, sitting down in our nice garden and enjoying view

  • Birdwatching at the lodge. Many books about Ethiopia and specially birds are available

  • Swim in the lake

  • Take the kayak and make a tour on the lake, visiting the borders with specific birdlife

  • Take part the traditional coffee ceremony to discover Ethiopian culture, Ethiopian life.

Surroundings

We organize trips to different nice places :

  • Debre Zeit Market on Tuesday and Saturday, Godino market on Monday.
  • Olympic swimming pool at 3 km of the lodge.
  • Visit the 7 different lakes in Dbre Zeit and its surroundings. One at 200 m, Hora at 2 km, Bishoftu at 5km, Kilole at 12 km, Green crater lake at 20 km, the Cuban lakes at 7 km and the beautiful seasonal lake with often thousands of birds, from November to March, is at 2 km.
  • All birdtrips with ornitoligist in Ethiopia.
  • 3 days visit to the Rift Valley lakes with nights on Awassa lakeborder, thousands of flamingo's, the hot water swimmingpool of Wondo Genet, a boottrip on Ziway Lake and a forest walk in Lepis to a big waterfall.
  • 7 days visit to the different people living in the OMO vally : Hammer, Mursi, Karo, Konso. Exclusive boottrip on the OMO river. Staying overnight in a Hammer village by tent.
